India-Pakistan News Live Updates: Union Cabinet meet today, Pakistan hands over detained BSF Jawan back to India

 BSF Jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in the custody of Pakistan Rangers since April 23, 2025, was handed back to India today. The exchange took place around 10:30 am at the Joint Check Post in Attari, Amritsar. The process was carried out peacefully and followed all standard procedures 

This exchange involved one soldier from each side. While Pakistan returned BSF Jawan Shaw, India handed over a Pakistan Rangers personnel member who had been in Indian custody. Shaw, who belongs to West Bengal, was welcomed back by Indian officials at the border.

Meanwhile in Riyadh, once again took credit for securing what he called a “historic ceasefire” between India and Pakistan, following a period of heightened military tensions between the two countries. He explained that trade played a significant role in bringing about the ceasefire, encouraging both countries to focus on economic deals rather than military conflict. He stressed on the idea of trading goods instead of nuclear missiles, highlighting the importance of peaceful negotiations. “Let’s do some trading. Let’s not trade nuclear missiles. Let’s trade the things that you make so beautifully,” Trump said.
